Evangelische Lungenklinik Berlin
The Evangelical Lung Clinic Berlin, one of the ten largest lung clinics in Germany, is a widely recognized specialist clinic for acute and chronic diseases of the lungs as well as the chest and its organs. The house, founded in 1952, is now run by Paul Gerhardt Diakonie gAG and, as a diaconal institution, is committed to Christian-motivated service to people.
The pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensive care physicians and radiologists at the Evangelical Lung Clinic Berlin treat around 6,200 inpatients every year. The hospital is certified as a center of excellence for thoracic surgery and as a lung cancer center and is accredited as a sleep medicine center and as a weaning center for weaning from the ventilator. Another focus is complex palliative medical treatment: specially trained doctors, nursing staff and employees from the areas of psycho-oncology, pastoral care, social services and physiotherapy ensure that the quality of life of seriously ill patients is maintained right up to the end.
