The Sana Kliniken Duisburg is a maximum care hospital and teaching hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen and treats around 22,000 inpatients every year. Another 60,000 patients receive outpatient care. The clinic has 17 specialist departments, three institutes and an affiliated medical center as well as 550 beds and employs 1,600 people. 99 percent of the funding is owned by Sana Kliniken AG and one percent by the city of Duisburg.
