Dr. Kamran Ali

• Dr. Kamran Ali is a Principal Consultant - Thoracic Surgery / Lung Transplant at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket.
• He graduated in Medicine from JNMCH, Aligarh, and completed his residency in Surgery from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He received further training in Thoracic Surgery in India, South Korea, and Japan. In 2020, he was selected for a Fellowship in Lung Transplant at The Medical University of Vienna, AKH, Austria.
• In India, he gained experience in General Thoracic Surgery, while in South Korea, he focused on acquiring skills in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (VATS and Robotics).
• He worked as a Consultant in Thoracic Surgery with the Fortis Group of Hospitals, Delhi NCR, and later at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.
• He actively participated in lung transplantation procedures, including patient selection, surgical management (donor and recipient), and postoperative care.
• He was part of the surgical team that performed Europe's 1st and the world's 2nd Lung Transplant for COVID-19 ARDS.
• Before joining Max, he worked as a Senior Consultant at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, where he successfully performed complex Double and Single Lung Transplants.
• He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He completed a Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Medanta the Medicity, Gurgaon, and ASCVTS Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Seoul National University, South Korea. He also obtained a Fellowship in Lung Transplant from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. He has received traveling fellowships from the National Cancer Centre and Tokyo University in Japan.
• Dr. Kamran Ali's areas of expertise include Lung Transplantation (Cadaveric), Living-Donor Lobar Lung Transplantation (LDLLT), Tracheal Surgery, ECMO, VATS, and Robotics for Inflammatory Lung Diseases, as well as comprehensive management of Lung & Mediastinal Cancer. His passion lies in the surgical treatment of End Stage Lung Diseases, Advanced Lung Failure, Infectious/Inflammatory Lung Diseases, and Lung Cancer.
