• Dr. Joy Varghese holds the position of Chief Clinical Advisor at the Institute of Gastro & Liver Sciences, SRM Global Hospitals, Chennai.
• With over 25 years of experience, he specializes in HPB Surgery.
• Dr. Joy is recognized as one of the senior-most transplant hepatologists in India, having performed over 1500 liver transplantations.
• He played a pivotal role in establishing liver transplant programs in both government and private institutions in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
• Dr. Joy has extensive experience in general hepatology and has delivered over 1000 lectures on liver disease and transplantation in India and abroad.
• He initiated therapeutic plasma exchange in various liver conditions and performed hepatitis B virus-related liver transplantation using hyperimmune plasma.
• Academically, he serves as the Program Director for Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI) Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Gleneagles Global Health City, Chennai.
