Clin Asst Prof Tina Koh obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2004. During her medical officer rotation, she developed a strong interest in Cardiothoracic Surgery. As a result, she began her advanced surgical training in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). She received a gold medal for her specialist exit examinations. Dr Koh decided to pursue further training in Thoracic Surgery. She traveled to South Korea to train under the regional expert surgeon of Video-assisted Thoracoscopic (VATS) Surgery in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.
Upon her return, she was appointed Associate Consultant at the National Cancer Centre (NCC). She later became a Senior Consultant. Currently, she is setting up the Surgical Lung Cancer database at the NCC.
Dr Koh is enthusiastic about undergraduate and post-graduate training. She is a clinical educator in Yong Loo Lin Medical School. She is a member of the Chapter of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NHCS.
Her interests include lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, airway and pleural disease as well as benign conditions such as pneumothorax. Her focus is on minimally invasive thoracic surgeries.
