Dr. Dortcan received his medical degree from Marmara University in 1998. In 2004, she finished her residency in neurology. Later, she volunteered for a year in the EMG and EEG Laboratories at Istanbul University's Department of Neurology.
She finished her master's degree in Clinical Neurophysiology between 2005 and 2008 at Istanbul University DETAE. After earning her medical degree, she worked as a clinical neurophysiologist before becoming an assistant professor of neurology in 2017.
Additionally, she joined the faculty of Istanbul Bilgi University Vocational School of Health Sciences in 2014 as an Assistant Professor in the Neurophysiology Department and rose to Associate Professor in 2018.
She oversaw the Neurophysiology Laboratory at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Training and Research Hospital from 2009 to 2018, and in 2016 she also worked at the Nişantaş clinic. Since March 2019, Dr. Nimet Dortcan has served as a specialist in neurology and clinical neurophysiology at Avicenna Atasehir Hospital.
Additionally, Dr. Nimet Dortcan participates actively in these associations and makes notable advancements in the field of clinical neurophysiology. She is a member of the Turkish Neurology Association, Epilepsy Association, Clinical Neurophysiology EEG-EMG Association, and Turkish Sleep Medicine Association. She has published and researched widely both domestically and abroad.
